
A magnificent Chinese "lantern" vase with decoration in underglaze blue and copper red and passages of Anhua, the base with the seal mark of Qianlong and of the period, probably made under the direction of Tang Ying, circa 1740, 18½" (47cm) high.
Provenance: Probably Embley Park, Hampshire, the home of Florence Nightingale. Private Collection, the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.
