A set of six Charles I pewter broad-rim chargers. Made to celebrate the marriage of Sir Francis Wyndham and Anne Gerrard of Trent in 1646, these chargers were previously at Newton Surmaville for well over 300 years, having started out life in another local house, Trent, three miles North East of Yeovil. They sold for £14,340 and formed part of a large garnish of pewter chargers which collectively sold for over £30,000.
Lucien Freud. Head and Shoulders of a Girl 1990. This limited edition etching was typical of Freudís style and with plenty of followers, his work achieves record prices at auction. This lot was no exception: It sold in April 2009 for £46,605 and was one of 3 works in the auction by the artist.
An Art Deco Emerald and diamond bracelet, similar to a design by Van Cleef and Arpels sold for £34,655. It was the star lot in an ever-growing jewellery department which has been boosted by the excellent bulk prices for precious metals this year.
Daisy Makeig-Jones: A Wedgwood Fairyland lustre pot and cover. Sold for £16,730 in July 2009.
