QUEEN VICTORIA: A PAIR OF FINE CREAM SILK STOCKINGS embroidered with sprigs of flowers within formalised foliate borders, the top of each stocking embroidered with the monogram "VR" with the numeral 10 below, c.87cm long (2)Sold together with a letter addressed to the Proprietor of the Mint House (a renowned antique business at Pevensey in Sussex) dated September 1934: "Dear Sir, I enclose herein a pair of silk stockings which belong to the late Queen Victoria, and pieces of ribbon belonging to the Princess Beatrice and her sisters, also a pair of the late Duke of Albany's socks as a baby. You will see the crown woven in the socks and also his initials "LGDA" (Leopole (sic) George Duncan Albert) ..... the enclosed have been given to me by a lady who is now in very reduced circumstances and I should like to sell them if possible and let her have the money......
