1914/15 TRIO TO COMMANDER PELLOWE ROYAL NAVY 1914/15 Star correctly impressed FT Payr E W S Pellowe RN. Pair correctly impressed Payr Commr E W S Pellowe RN. Swing mounted as worn. Condition - GVF+ Ernest William Spencer Pellowe was born on 10th April 1878. He joined the Royal Navy on 1th January 1896. He passed his exams for Paymaster on 10th April 1899. During the Great War he serve on HMS Bellerophon, which attempted to intercepts the German ships that bombarded Hartlepool, Scarborough and Whitby in 1914. He also served at the Battle of Jutland. Pellowe retired as a Paymaster Commander on 10th April 1928. During the Second World War he served as an Air Raid Warden. He passed away in 1949.
