A "HELLENISTIC" GOLD WREATH composed of a simple hoop with applied branches of myrtle, with stylised flower heads emerging from spear-shaped leaves with delicate veining, 7.5" across. See illustration On stylistic grounds the form of this gold wreath indicates a date in the 2nd/3rd century B.C. Provenance: Acquired by the Grandfather of the vendor is the 1930's and thence by descent Private Collection, Somerset
