A VICTORIAN FRUIT BASKET of shaped circular form, with a scroll and pierced border of leaves and grapes, chased floral decoration, on a spreading circular foot, the centre engraved with an inscription "This fruit basket forms a portion of a service of plate. Presented to George Brown, Esq. of Avebury. By upwards of 320 of the principal gentry, landowners, tenant farmers and other friends, resident in and connected with the County of Wilts, April 1853".
