Duke’s specialist department focusses on furniture and objects from 1860 to the present day, encompassing the aesthetic and Japonism movements to modern art and design. We hold two dedicated sales per year which include key designers and makers such as Clarice Cliff, Lalique, Heals, Liberty, Omar Ramsden and, closer to home, Poole Pottery.
In recent years mid-century modern has become hugely fashioned with the emergence of a new young crop of collectors. Items that perhaps were once part of your parents’ or grandparents’ home furnishings are now very much on trend, with sought-after names including G Plan, Ercol and Eames along with many Scandinavian designers of the period.
