Duke's are excited to be supporting this charity exhibition and auction in aid of Diverse Abilities.
Exhibition & Auction
at St. Giles House, Wimborne St. Giles, BH21 5NA
by kind permission of the Earl & Countess of Shaftesbury
This exhibition and subsequent auction is is being held to help raise the £1million needed to build a hydrotherapy pool for The Beehive Centre, a treatment and therapy centre in Poole where fifty or so adults with profound disabilities spend their weekdays. It also aims to raise awareness about the hidden disability in our midst, in every village and town across the country, and to show people, particularly those who so often find difference difficult, that this is really something for all of us to engage and help with.
The twenty-eight artists taking part in this show have given their work because they know that this really matters. Some of them have visited The Beehive to meet with and record the lives of the people who go there and this process of quiet attention, whether in drawing and being drawn, just talking, or simply in being there, has proved to be an extraordinary and enriching experience.
