First joining Duke’s in 2006, working as a part time Porter, Antoinette is now Saleroom Co-ordinator, General Valuer and Photographer at Duke’s Avenue Auctions, also running the very popular annual Vintage Clothing & Textile sale.
Antoinette has enjoyed a mixed and varied career, attending her first auction aged 10 running the sale sheets, and later, her own stall at antique fairs in Kent, where she found her passion for antique jewellery.
She trained as a professional dancer, performing with the London City and Bolshoi Ballet Companies. Her knowledge of theatrical costumes came in useful when outfits worn by Christopher Gable and the Hollywood legend, Sophia Loren, were consigned for auction.
Previously Antoinette worked eleven years for English Heritage, managing three historic castles in the South West, travelling nationwide to organise events, seminars and merchandising; later working as the Curator for Portland Museum.
More recently she has worked for a local jeweller in Dorchester.
