GEORGE SPENCER WATSON RA, RWS, ROI, (1869-1934) A portrait study of Hilda, the artist's wife, leading a dappled grey horse with a brindle greyhound to heel, oil on canvas, 79.5" x 81". See illustration. Provenance: Acquired in the early 1960's by the current vendor from the daughter of the artist, Mary Spencer Watson at Dunshay Manor, Swanage. Private collection, Ireland. This composition relates to the artist's masterpiece "Four Loves I found". In the present work only a depiction of the artist's daughter is lacking.
