Duke’s recognise that, where possible, selling the contents of a house in situ can often add significant value to the final hammer price as items are brought to life for potential buyers. We also understand that taking the decision to sell the contents of one’s home is both a major undertaking and a very personal journey.
As a boutique sized firm, we can offer a highly tailored service with direct access to our specialists who will work alongside you and your family to achieve the best outcome from our initial meetings to the final fall of the hammer. Duke’s has the privilege to count amongst its team several experts from the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, along with very experienced valuations, marketing and off-site sales staff.
In 2010, Duke’s held the sale of the contents of Melplash Court in Dorset, which achieved a sale total of over £3,000,000 - a record for any auctioneer outside London.
Already in 2021, we have had great success in auctioning the contents of both Dewlish House and Wormington Grange. Wormington Grange in partular breaking the record for a Algeron Cecil Newton selling for just shy of £300,000.
In instances where it is not advantageous to sell on your premises, Duke’s offers a state-of-the-art saleroom and gallery to showcase your fine art and collectables.
